A nine-member delegation of Ocean University, China today paid a courtesy call on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman at the latter's office of the university here.
During the meeting, they discussed matters of mutual interest specially the possibilities of undertaking joint collaborative research and academic programs on the subjects of Oceanography and Fisheries between DU and Ocean University of China, reports BSS.
The delegation members are Wang Shuguang and Professor Dr Hai Shen Wen.
Chairman of the Department of Oceanography of DU Professor Md Kawser Ahmed and Chairman of Editorial Board of The Bangladesh Today Md Jobaer Alam were present, among others, on this occasion, said a DU release here.
They stressed the need for extending scientific co-operation between the two universities. They agreed to sign a MoU between the two universities in this regard soon, the release also said.
DU VC thanked the Chinese guests for their visit to DU and keen interest in undertaking collaborative educational and scientific research programs with DU.
